This Privacy Policy explains how Humm ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

  • Email address (via Apple/Google sign-in)
  • Name, date of birth, gender
  • Country location
  • Profile photos
  • Messages and chat content
  • Feedback and reports you submit

Information collected automatically:

  • Device type and operating system
  • App usage and interactions
  • Crash reports

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and operate the app
  • To show your profile to other users
  • To enable messaging and matching features
  • To send notifications about activity
  • To improve the app and fix issues
  • To enforce our Terms and keep users safe

3. Information Sharing

4. Data Storage & Security

  • Data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption
  • Photos are stored on Cloudflare R2
  • We use Row Level Security to protect your data
  • Data may be processed in the United States

5. Data Retention & Account Deletion

  • We keep your data while your account is active
  • When you delete your account, your data is deleted
  • Some data may be retained briefly for legal or safety reasons

Account Deletion Process

You may request account deletion at any time from Settings. Upon request, your account enters a 7-day grace period during which you can cancel by logging back in. After 7 days, your account and all associated data (profile, photos, messages, chat sessions, matches, green flags, subscriptions) are permanently deleted. We retain a minimal audit record (email, gender, location, account creation date, deletion date, and reason) for fraud prevention purposes as permitted under GDPR Art. 6(1)(f).

User Blocking

When you block another user, all conversations with that user are permanently removed and they will be unable to contact you again.

Subscriptions

Deleting your account does not automatically cancel your subscription. You must cancel your subscription through Apple App Store or Google Play Store before or after requesting deletion.

6. Your Rights

You can:

  • Access your data through your profile
  • Update your information in the app
  • Delete your account in Settings

8. California Residents (CCPA)

You have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect
  • Request deletion of your data
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising your rights

We do not sell personal information.

9. European Users (GDPR)

You have the right to:

  • Access your data
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Delete your data
  • Restrict processing
  • Data portability
  • Object to processing

10. Children's Privacy

Humm is for users 18 and older only. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover an underage user, we will delete their account.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app.
